HUNGER
Roughly 50 million people in America face food insecurity. These food deficiencies happen for a number of reasons. Whether you live in a food desert where it’s difficult to buy affordable, good quality food or if you are low income and can’t afford food.
We are committed to ensure that each person has the ability to get the nutritional items that they need each and every day.
Community Gardens is one way we look to address the hunger issues within our community. By growing food we will provide a sustainable approach in which individuals can participate in determining what nutritious items are available each day. A number of public health experts believe that livability issues across America can be addressed by establishing places where people can come and participate in feeding their families.
By providing access to these nutritious foods we are removing the barriers that would traditionally exist due to the limited financial and community resources. It will no longer be an inconvenience due to the lack of transportation because they will have access to these gardens in the center of their community.
Another way in which we are dealing with the hunger issues is by partnering with local restaurants and food banks to provide nutritious meals to families.
